The 1978 Mazis-Chambertin from Remoissenet Père & Fils is a Grand Cru red Burgundy made exclusively from Pinot Noir, sourced from the esteemed Mazis-Chambertin vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte de Nuits. Noted for their historical expertise as a négociant-éleveur, Remoissenet established long-term relationships with local growers, securing high-quality grapes from this renowned site. The 1978 vintage reveals a mature character, featuring aromas of dried cherry, earthiness and subtle spice. On the palate, expect a complex interplay of faded red fruit, soft tannins and a lingering finish reflective of its age and provenance.

The 2008 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has an attractive leafy nose with touches of rooibos, Japanese black tea and light red berry fruit. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, pretty tart, red berry fruit, not deep and lightly poised on the finish. This is a beautiful Clos-de-Bèze that is reaching its peak. - Neil Martin
