Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Masseto 2003 is a singular expression of Merlot from the esteemed Masseto vineyard in Bolgheri, Tuscany. This 7-hectare site, with its unique blue clay soils, contributes to the wine`s distinctive profile. The vintage presents a rich colour and a bouquet that reveals notes of black cherry and plum, accompanied by subtle hints of chocolate, earthy minerality and dried herbs. On the palate, it demonstrates concentrated flavours and a refined structure, characterised by well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity, resulting in a lengthy finish. Masseto is crafted by Ornellaia, known for their meticulous vineyard management and commitment to quality.

The 2003 Masseto is tremendous tonight. I admit, 2003 is one of my least favorite vintages, and yet the wine is so delicious today. Exotic and opulent to the core, the 2003 shows all of the natural richness of this brutally hot, dry year in its dark, heady, super-ripe flavors. There is not a ton of nuance, but readers could certainly do worse. This is an especially fine showing for the 2003, that much is pretty clear. Harvest took place between August 25 and September 18, a very early start. Ultimately, the winemaking team decided to only use the heart of the Masseto vineyard, 'Masseto Centrale,' in the blend, which lowered production significantly in favor of quality, a strategy that paid off brilliantly.Antonio Galloni1st January 2020

A Single Vineyard Super Tuscan

A stand-out name on the Tuscan wine scene, the wines of Masseto are produced from vines first planted in the 1980s. The estate is situated on Italy’s Tuscan Coast, on a magical hillside overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea near the small village of Bolgheri. 'Masseto' was named after the rock-hard clusters of blue clay known as ‘massi’ that form on the vineyard’s surface. Originally the brainchild of Lodovico Antinori, the Masseto estate has been owned by the prestigious Tuscan Frescobaldi family since 2005.

In the words of Estate Director, Axel Heinz, 'At Masseto, we try to do as little as possible to the wines. Our goal is simply to capture the essence of nature and take it to the highest level. This is about an amazing, very challenging, vineyard and wine made with great simplicity. We have tanks. We have barrels. We have gravity flow. And we have people who care about the wine. That’s it. That’s our philosophy.'
