Marcassin was established in 1991 by the legendary winemaker, Helen Turley. An incredibly influential figure on the Californian wine scene over the last 30 years, she has either made the wine or consulted for some of the region’s greatest wineries, including Peter Michael, Colgin and Bryant.

Three Sisters Chardonnay is a cuvée no longer made by Turley as the fruit is now used by Martinelli Vineyards, from whom she used to purchase the fruit. This is an incredibly small production wine of just several hundred cases and has a superb reputation for its innate complexity and ageworthiness. Robert Parker described the 2008 as “intense and powerful” with notes of “white currants, unbuttered popcorn, hazelnuts and citrus blossom…” and awarded it 97 points.
