Lynch Moussas 2009 presents a deep garnet color, indicative of its age and concentration. On the nose, it reveals aromas of dark fruits such as black cherry and plum, along with hints of tobacco and cedar. The palate shows a firm structure with pronounced tannins, balanced by a medium level of acidity. flavours of ripe blackberries and subtle spice emerge, characteristic of its Bordeaux origins.
This wine is crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, typical for the Pauillac region. With an alcohol content of around 13.5%, it benefits from a long aging potential and showcases the classic qualities of its terroir. The 2009 vintage is noted for its warm growing season, allowing for optimal ripening of the fruit, contributing to the wine`s depth and character.

The 2009 Lynch-Moussas has a fleshy ripe, mulberry and cedar scented bouquet with hints of tobacco and pencil box developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite cohesive and focused with good depth, fresh and lithe towards the classic cedar and graphite finish. This is an excellent showing for an underrated Pauillac. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting. - Neil Martin
