Les Forts de Latour is the second wine of First Growth Château Latour which made its debut in 1966 and is produced with the same meticulous care as the Grand Vin, both in the vineyard and in the winery. The 2000 vintage is currently at its peak. It retains its deep black fruit, floral, and oak-derived nuances, complemented by the emerging notes of spice, earth, and hints of cigar box. This wine maintains a well-balanced and vibrant profile, upheld by its fresh acidity and a touch of mint, which extend through to the long finish.

The 2000 Les Forts de Latour has a very perfumed and floral bouquet, beautifully defined, precise and precocious; hints of eucalyptus emerge with time. The palate is well balanced and intense, delivering black fruit laced with mint and tar. The concentrated finish gently grips the mouth. This is only just beginning to show what it can do. A Towering First Growth

Situated on the Bordeaux's Left Bank in the appellation of Pauillac, this superb First Growth is produced from the estate's 92ha of vines, spread across 138 plots, (47 hectares of which are located in renowned 'L'Enclos'). The clay and gravel soils give superbly concentrated, textural Cabernet Sauvignon dominant reds, with Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc making up the blend.

The estate also produces two further celebrated reds, Les Forts de Latour and Pauillac de Latour. Certified organic since 2018, biodynamic techniques are also used in the vineyard.
