Citrus led, with mineral and saline notes, this elegant cuvée drinks equally well on its own or particularly with fish dishes. Perfect now or age for up to 5 years. Dorset. 62% Chardonnay, 29% Pinot Noir, 9% Pinot Meunier. Based on the 2017 vintage with 10% reserve wines. Bottled May 2018 and disgorged January 2020, so not that long on the lees – but all the information on the back label is a boon. Dosage 2 g/l.
Very deep gold. There is real guts and undertow to this well balanced, rather interesting wine at a good price. Tastes deeper than one would imagine for a wine with hardly more than 18 months on the lees. Not a bad price either. Not too tart and agreeable slight grip on the finish. But I don`t think it will be one of the longest-lived English sparkling wines.
