Château Lagrange is a Third Growth wine producer situated within the Saint-Julien appellation. The 2000 vintage was a standout year for Bordeaux, producing a large number of high-quality wines. The growing season had warm summer days and cool nights, which helped to maintain acidity levels while allowing the fruit to fully ripen. Château Lagrange 2000 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with a small percentage of Petit Verdot. It is a well-structured wine, with notes of ripe blackcurrant, plum, and cherry, along with hints of cedar, tobacco, and spice from the oak barrels.

- The 2000 Lagrange is deep in color and sports a bouquet very similar to the bottle poured at the vertical, resplendent with blackberry, pencil box and a discreet ash scent. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, and maybe less brutish than the previous bottle, displaying more cohesion and less austerity on the finish. This is delightful and the best example that I have encountered.
