Lafleur-Gazin 2009 is a notable expression from this esteemed Pomerol estate, which has been fully owned and overseen by Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix since 2021. This vintage primarily features Merlot and benefits from the estate`s diverse clay, silt and gravel soils. The traditional vinification process is coupled with a maturation period of 16-20 months in French oak, of which 25-40% is new. This wine demonstrates depth with a focus on fruit purity, complemented by fine tannins, making it suitable for further ageing.

Vinous
Medium red-ruby. Musky plum, coffee, mocha, chocolate and roasted herbs on the slightly liqueur-like nose, plus a whiff of leather. Supple and fat but a bit chunky and lacking in nerve and definition. Plenty of sweetness to the flavors of plum, currant, chocolate and herbs but the rather low-toned, slightly warm finish needs more lift. Tannins are a bit dusty and dry.
