Château La Tour Haut-Brion was a Bordeaux wine estate from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, which was ranked as a Cru Classé for red wine. The estate’s final vintage was 2005, after the owners – Domaine Clarence Dillon – decided to discontinue the label. This is a rare bottle from the 1982 vintage, universally considered a legendary year for Bordeaux.
91 Vinous
Saturated red-ruby. Slowly developing, highly expressive aromas of cooked plum, leather, tobacco, road tar and earth. Then silky and lush in the mouth, with compelling fat and texture. Remains just this side of roasted, thanks to sound acids and a medicinal note of menthol. Thick and impressive wine, finishing firm and gripping, with solid, ripe tannins. Serious juice.
