La Fleur-Pétrus 2004 is a full-bodied, Merlot-based red wine from the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux. Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a renowned estate in Pomerol, owned by Jean-Pierre Moueix since 1952. Situated near Château Pétrus and Château Lafleur, it enjoys an excellent location in the eastern part of Pomerol. "A superb wine this is going to be. It is rich, elegant, poised, with its super-ripe, but still fresh, berry fruit flavours exhibiting much of the richness of Merlot when it has been ripened slowly and surely. While this has less intensity than its neighbour of Château Pétrus, the Cabernet Franc in the blend gives it intriguing perfumes." Wine Enthusiast, 2007

- Full red. Slightly medicinal aromas of redcurrant, plum, chocolate and herbs, along with a peppery nuance. Supple in texture but a bit subdued, with restrained sweetness and notes of herbs and minerals. I find this in an awkward stage today, and a tad dry and green on the back, but there's firm spine and sneaky flavor intensity here.
