La Chapelle de La Mission Haut Brion 1995 is the esteemed second wine of Château La Mission Haut-Brion, situated in the Pessac-Léognan appellation of Bordeaux. This vintage is composed of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wine exhibits a deep garnet colour and reveals a complex bouquet featuring aromas of leather, tobacco and dark fruits. On the palate, it offers a robust structure with well-integrated tannins and a lingering finish that reflects the gravelly terroir of the vineyard.
90 Robert Parker
The new second wine of La Mission-Haut-Brion, Chapelle-Haut-Brion, is a worthy addition to the Dillon family`s portfolio. The 1995 is a sleeper, and one of the better second wines of this vintage. It comes across as more extracted than the 1996, but offers a lovely, rich, medium-bodied, well-endowed personality. The wine reveals much of the character of La Mission-Haut-Brion in its sweet berry fruit intertwined with smoke, tobacco, and roasted herbs. Round, spicy, and generous, with no hard edges, it will provide ideal drinking over the next 7-8 years. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.

Long Lived Reds and Whites

Château La Mission Haut-Brion is one of the preeminent estates in the Pessac-Léognan appellation and is renowned for producing exceptionally concentrated and long-lived wines. The prestigious first label, La Mission Haut-Brion, is a near equal blend of Cabernet and Merlot, giving wonderfully focused wines with bramble and floral character. This illustrious estate also produces a stellar second label, La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion.

Two beautiful whites are made: La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, which is a aromatic, Sémillon-dominant blend with beautiful citrus and stone fruit, and a second white, La Clarté de Haut Brion (which also takes grapes from the Château Haut-Brion estate).
