Krug Vintage 1981 is a carefully crafted vintage expression from the renowned Krug house, known for its meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality. This vintage, originating from a challenging year marked by varied weather, showcases a blend predominantly of Pinot Noir, with contributions from Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The wine presents complex notes of dried fruits and subtle spice, alongside hints of almond and a delicate minerality. Krug, founded in 1843, has a tradition of maintaining extensive cellaring practices, allowing their Vintages to develop in a unique and intricate manner.

Elegant Luxury

A Champagne house that needs no introduction. Founded by Johann Krug in Reims in 1843, this celebrated Maison specialises in prestige cuvées, including the multi-vintage flagship Grande Cuvée as well as the glorious Krug Clos d'Ambonnay, made exclusively from Pinot Noir. Another highlight is the highly coveted Clos du Mesnil - a rare Blanc de Blancs produced only in exceptional years from a single, tiny 1.84ha plot of Chardonnay grapes in the heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Krug has been owned by LVMH since 1999.

While Krug's excellent Grande Cuvée and Rosé have historically been released as multi-vintage blends with no indication of year, the team have now started including edition numbers so consumers can easily discover the age and provenance of the base wines used in the blend.
