Krug Rosé is a delicate blend of wines from a single year blended with carefully selected plots from the House’s reserve library with the addition of traditionally macerated Pinot Noir to add structure and spice. It is aged for seven years before release and is a true combination of elegance, finesse and power.

Krug’s NV Rosé 29ème Édition blends 29 wines from five harvests dating back to 2010, and like the Grande Cuvée, each component is selected by Krug’s tasting committee through blind tastings. Anchored by the 2017 vintage, which comprises 67% of the assemblage, it gains its color, texture and character from the addition of 11% still red wine from Aÿ-Champagne and Mutigny, sourced from the 2016 and 2017 vintages. The wine opens with aromas evocative of grapefruit zest, redcurrant and apple pie, intricately mingled with a subtle trace of Sichuan pepper and a whisper of rosewood oil. On the palate, it presents as medium- to full-bodied, vinous and textural—albeit slightly less chiseled than its white counterpart. A deep core of fruit, tangy acidity and a long, perfumed finish with a delicate phenolic grip complete this new release. - Kristaps Karklins

(roughly 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier; I.D. 213027; LLSPPK): Pale orange. A highly perfumed bouquet displays scents of blood orange, redcurrant and gingerbread, plus spicy oak and floral nuances. Juicy, dense and spicy on the palate, with a smoky mineral quality lifting and sharpening the sappy citrus fruit and red berry flavors.  Shows noteworthy intensity on the finish, which leaves notes of orange zest, candied rose and toasted notes behind.  This Champagne's balance of power and vivacity is pretty impressive.Josh Raynolds1st January 2015

Tasted at Decanter Krug dinner.Pale salmon pink but much darker than it used to be. Correct, tight nose then rather strawberry and soft on the palate before a slightly tarry finish. Not as delectably fine as I remember it. (JR)

Elegant Luxury

A Champagne house that needs no introduction. Founded by Johann Krug in Reims in 1843, this celebrated Maison specialises in prestige cuvées, including the multi-vintage flagship Grande Cuvée as well as the glorious Krug Clos d'Ambonnay, made exclusively from Pinot Noir. Another highlight is the highly coveted Clos du Mesnil - a rare Blanc de Blancs produced only in exceptional years from a single, tiny 1.84ha plot of Chardonnay grapes in the heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Krug has been owned by LVMH since 1999.

While Krug's excellent Grande Cuvée and Rosé have historically been released as multi-vintage blends with no indication of year, the team have now started including edition numbers so consumers can easily discover the age and provenance of the base wines used in the blend.
