Krug Rosé Edition 28 is a non-vintage rosé Champagne produced by the house of Krug in Reims, France. Part of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy since 1999, Krug is considered one of the grandest of the Grande Marques. The maison was originally founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a German national who learned his trade at Champagne Jacquesson. More than two decades ago Krug began releasing its Rosé cuvée as numbered editions. This non-vintage bottling is the 28th edition, which is based on wine from the 2016 vintage. Producer note. "Krug Rosé 28ème Édition is a Champagne full of vivacity, amplitude and boldness with a liberated element of the unexpected. The broad palette of elegant notes in this Édition is born from a selection of 32 wines from 6 different years, the youngest from 2016, and the oldest from 2010."
97 Robert Parker
Offering aromas of peonies, orange peel, cinnamon, dried herbs, rose petals and ripe red berries, the NV Rosé 28ème Edition possesses a medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated palate with a vinous, creamy core of fruit framed by a vibrant, enrobing mid-palate that leads into a nicely phenolic, long, salty and mineral finish. This rendition—a blend of 58% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 17% Pinot Meunier—is one of this house`s most powerful and well-executed Champagne rosé ever produced. It comprises 32 wines from vintages spanning 2010 to 2016, with the latter as the base, and red wine sourced from Aÿ. - Yohan Castaing

The NV Krug Rosé 28ème Édition is terrific. A rich, substantial Champagne, the Rosé possesses notable textural depth and substance. Hints of orange peel, cinnamon, dried rose petals and sweet red cherry fruit are all laced together in a creamy, beautifully resonant Champagne. Some previous editions have been more linear, but the 28ème feels richer, with a greater role given to the Pinot Noir, with important contributions from base wines from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Les Riceys. Time in the glass brings out gorgeous focus to pull it all together. Readers will find an extremely versatile Rosé that will provide immense pleasure, both on its own or at the dinner table. This release is based on 2016, with 38% reserve wines back to 2010, 58% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 17% Meunier. Disgorged: Winter 2022-2023. Krug ID: 123009.Antonio Galloni27th June 2024

Elegant Luxury

A Champagne house that needs no introduction. Founded by Johann Krug in Reims in 1843, this celebrated Maison specialises in prestige cuvées, including the multi-vintage flagship Grande Cuvée as well as the glorious Krug Clos d'Ambonnay, made exclusively from Pinot Noir. Another highlight is the highly coveted Clos du Mesnil - a rare Blanc de Blancs produced only in exceptional years from a single, tiny 1.84ha plot of Chardonnay grapes in the heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Krug has been owned by LVMH since 1999.

While Krug's excellent Grande Cuvée and Rosé have historically been released as multi-vintage blends with no indication of year, the team have now started including edition numbers so consumers can easily discover the age and provenance of the base wines used in the blend.
