Krug Grande Cuvée (Old Presentation) NV is the flagship multi-vintage Champagne from Krug. This cuvée is defined by its large blend of reserve wines and its time spent in small old oak barrels. The structure shows profound depth and a seamless integrated texture achieved through extended cellaring. Flavours include brioche, roasted nuts, ginger spice and dried citrus peel.
94 Vinous
(roughly 45% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier; I.D. 421044; LLLMXE): Light gold. Nectarine, poached pear, toasted nuts, anise and buttered toast on the complex, mineral-tinged nose. Deeply concentrated but energetic and precise as well, offering sappy orchard and pit fruit flavors along with notes of brioche and marzipan. A bitter citrus pith note adds definition to the impressively long, smoky finish. Shows more power and heft than I've experienced from this bottling in recent years.Josh Raynolds1st January 2015

Elegant Luxury

A Champagne house that needs no introduction. Founded by Johann Krug in Reims in 1843, this celebrated Maison specialises in prestige cuvées, including the multi-vintage flagship Grande Cuvée as well as the glorious Krug Clos d'Ambonnay, made exclusively from Pinot Noir. Another highlight is the highly coveted Clos du Mesnil - a rare Blanc de Blancs produced only in exceptional years from a single, tiny 1.84ha plot of Chardonnay grapes in the heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Krug has been owned by LVMH since 1999.

While Krug's excellent Grande Cuvée and Rosé have historically been released as multi-vintage blends with no indication of year, the team have now started including edition numbers so consumers can easily discover the age and provenance of the base wines used in the blend.
