Krug Grande Cuvée 161ème Édition is a blend of 134 wines from 12 different years, the youngest of which is from 2005, while the oldest dates back to 1990. Its final blend is composed of 44 % Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay and 19% Meunier. On the nose, aromas of citrus fruit, marzipan and gingerbread are tempered by floral elements. The palate has a nutty core and is complemented by more citrus notes, brioche and honey. The champagne is presented here in a fabulous Jeroboam.

Elegant Luxury

A Champagne house that needs no introduction. Founded by Johann Krug in Reims in 1843, this celebrated Maison specialises in prestige cuvées, including the multi-vintage flagship Grande Cuvée as well as the glorious Krug Clos d'Ambonnay, made exclusively from Pinot Noir. Another highlight is the highly coveted Clos du Mesnil - a rare Blanc de Blancs produced only in exceptional years from a single, tiny 1.84ha plot of Chardonnay grapes in the heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Krug has been owned by LVMH since 1999.

While Krug's excellent Grande Cuvée and Rosé have historically been released as multi-vintage blends with no indication of year, the team have now started including edition numbers so consumers can easily discover the age and provenance of the base wines used in the blend.
