Krug Grande Cuvee is a non-vintage Champagne produced by the House of Krug in Reims. The Grande Cuvée is the flagship Champagne of this illustrious house and is a blend of more than 120 different wines from more than 10 different years. Krug Grande Cuvée was conceived by the house`s founder, Joseph Krug, who since 1843 set out to produce a fine Champagne which would retain its consistently high quality irrespective of variations of vintage. Krug has honoured its founder`s with each new Édition of Krug Grande Cuvée. The 170th Edition is composed of 51% Pinot Noir, 38% Chardonnay and 11% Pinot Meunier, the youngest wine in the blend is from 2014, the oldest dating back to 1998. Reserve wine makes up about 45% of the final blend. "Wonderful precision and depth right away on the nose, with dried pineapple, light apricot and hints of flint and slate. Medium-bodied palate that’s firm, bright and linear. Vivid, driven acidity adds focus and perfection. Dried lemon and a wonderful, creamy texture with a mineral undertone. Extremely long, almost endless. Sophistication here." James Suckling, 2022
94 Vinous
(roughly 45% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier; I.D. 421044; LLLMXE): Light gold. Nectarine, poached pear, toasted nuts, anise and buttered toast on the complex, mineral-tinged nose. Deeply concentrated but energetic and precise as well, offering sappy orchard and pit fruit flavors along with notes of brioche and marzipan. A bitter citrus pith note adds definition to the impressively long, smoky finish. Shows more power and heft than I've experienced from this bottling in recent years.Josh Raynolds1st January 2015

Elegant Luxury

A Champagne house that needs no introduction. Founded by Johann Krug in Reims in 1843, this celebrated Maison specialises in prestige cuvées, including the multi-vintage flagship Grande Cuvée as well as the glorious Krug Clos d'Ambonnay, made exclusively from Pinot Noir. Another highlight is the highly coveted Clos du Mesnil - a rare Blanc de Blancs produced only in exceptional years from a single, tiny 1.84ha plot of Chardonnay grapes in the heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Krug has been owned by LVMH since 1999.

While Krug's excellent Grande Cuvée and Rosé have historically been released as multi-vintage blends with no indication of year, the team have now started including edition numbers so consumers can easily discover the age and provenance of the base wines used in the blend.
