G-Max represents Klaus-Peter Keller’s top selected parcel of estate-grown grapes, the identity of which is not disclosed and varies from year to year. The 2009 release is a remarkably concentrated and complex wine with seemingly endless layers of stone fruits, citrus oils, smoke, wild herbs and brown spices. It is a wine of immense vitality and all-encompassing character that puts most other Riesling firmly in its shadow.

Tasted blind. In its complexity and freshness a simply overwhelming bouquet! This is the most impressive demonstration of spontaneous aromas that has ever passed my nose, the exhilarating freshness of a herb garden still under the veil of morning dew. Cool mint and crisp parsley take the lead in an array of fresh green fragrances. On the palate this animating green component integrates effortlessly into a grand composition of subtle fruity and vegetal elements. Glacial pebbles, flint, almond kernel, stone fruit and a faint menthol breeze are just some of the sensory highlights to be found in an aromatic harmony of transient ease. Stellar! (MS)
