Keermont Terrasse White 2022 is a medium- to full-bodied blended white wine from the Stellenbosch region of South Africa. This year a blend of 36% Chenin Blanc, 22% Chardonnay, 20% Sauvignon Blanc and the remainder Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne, the Terrasse White is winemaker Alex Starey`s signature white blend. Barrel-fermented and aged, this gastronomic white offers notes of sweet citrus, ripe peach and apricot, with toasty oak notes and a refreshing finish.

The 2022 Terrasse comes from the estate, using indigenous yeast with 12 months in mostly 500-liter French oak barrels. The varieties complement each other nicely here, the Chenin in the driving seat: honeysuckle, orange pith, popcorn and light almond scents. The palate is vivacious on the entry, taut and linear, a "vertical" white Stellenbosch white with an edgy, waxy-textured sapid finish that beckons you back for another sip. Excellent.

The 2022 White Blend Terrasse is made from 46% Chenin Blanc, 20% Chardonnay, 14% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Roussanne, 8% Viognier and 2% Marsanne. Aromas of almond skin and white peach blossoms with lemon and hints of yellow apples waft from the glass. Medium-bodied, the palate is fresh with balanced acidity before showing delightful minerality with a succulent mouthfeel and kiss of phenolic bitterness. Offering persistent flavors of peach ring, the finish lingers long. Just under 16,000 bottles were produced from wine that aged in seasoned French oak barrels for 12 months on the lees. - Anthony Mueller
