Jacquesson Cuvée 747 NV is an expression of the 2019 harvest, crafted from grapes sourced from several renowned villages, including Aÿ, Dizy, Hautvillers, Avize and Oiry. Unlike many other Champagne houses that aim for a consistent house style year after year, Jacquesson`s "700 series" Cuvées are designed to express the character of a single dominant base vintage, complemented by a small proportion of reserve wines. The 747 in its name refers to the 747th blend in Jacquesson`s historical accounting, with the 2019 vintage serving as its base. This means the majority of the grapes in this blend were harvested in 2019. The blend typically includes a significant portion of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with a smaller amount of Pinot Meunier. For the 747, given frost issues with Chardonnay in 2019, it leaned more Pinot-heavy than usual.

Based on the 2019 vintage, the NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 747 reveals a lively, delicate bouquet of white pepper, tangerine, lemon oil, herbs and red berries mingled with lovely menthol notes. Medium to full-bodied, tense and sappy, it`s layered with a vinous core of fruit and a delicately saline finish. This is not the most opulent iteration from this house but rather an edition that closely reflects the character of the vintage, marked by its tension and phenolic complexity. - Yohan Castaing

Blend of 39% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 26% Pinot Meunier from Avize, Oiry, Aÿ, Champillon and Dizy. The base wine was fermented in oak. Aged on lees for 4 years. Dosage 1.5 g/l.Transparent and lacy. Very charming and flirtatious. Distinctive! (JR)
