Jacquesson Cuvée 734 DT NV in magnum represents a thoughtful approach to Champagne, anchored in the Jacquesson house`s 700 series philosophy, which prioritises the specifics of each base vintage over a uniform style. This cuvée combines principal harvests from 2006, featuring around 54% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir and 26% Pinot Meunier, supplemented by reserve wines. The DT designation denotes extended lees aging – approximately seven years – before its 2014 disgorgement, creating a complex profile. Notable attributes include baked apple, toasted nuts and a lengthy saline finish.

Jacquesson's Cuvée 734 Degorgement Tardif is a pretty wine best enjoyed over the next few years because of its mid-weight structure and approachable personality. Dried pear, honey, wild flowers and spices open up over time, but the 734 remains relatively straightforward with good overall balance, but less in the way of complexity than some of the very finest wines that have emerged from this cellar in recent years. The blend is 54% Chardonnay, 26% Pinot Meunier and 20% Pinot Noir, based on the 2006 vintage, plus the addition of 27% reserve wines. Disgorged October 2014. Dosage was 3.5 grams/liter.Antonio Galloni1st July 2015
