Hure Freres Memoire Extra Brut presents a crisp and structured profile, marked by a delicate minerality and notes of green apple and citrus zest. The palate showcases a refreshing acidity that balances the subtle breadiness from the extended aging process. Its clean finish reveals hints of white flowers and a touch of stone fruit, offering a nuanced complexity that invites further exploration.
Produced in a small family estate in Champagne, Hure Freres emphasizes terroir in its winemaking approach. With a blend primarily from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, the Extra Brut designation signifies minimal dosage, showcasing the purity of the fruit. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation, contributing to its creamy mouthfeel and depth, while its elegant bubbles enhance the overall drinking experience.
92 Robert Parker
The latest rendition of Huré Frères` NV Extra Brut Mémoire derives from a solera spanning from the 1982 vintage to the 2015 vintage, and it was disgorged in December 2019 with two grams per liter dosage. Bursting with aromas of green orchard fruit, dried apricot, confit citrus and toasted nuts, it`s medium to full-bodied, sapid and complex, with racy acids and a fleshy core of fruit, concluding with a precise, nutty finish. The solera`s age imparts an attractive patina but doesn`t overwhelm the wine. - William Kelley
92 Vinous
The NV Extra Brut Mémoire results from a perpetual reserve started in 1982, this bottling contains the vintages up to 2019 and is a blend of half Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier and 10% Chardonnay. Salty corn husk and creamy polenta on the nose are immediately superseded by very lively big foam on the palate of this golden wine. The palate is beautifully savory, showing more corn husk, creamy cold butter, beautifully profound chalkiness and serene lemon. Concentration and depth are most appetizing with their salty, moreish freshness and length. The frothy mousse lets it down a bit, as it detracts from the essential concentration of the perpetual reserve, but saltiness lasts on the dry finish. Dosage is 2gr/L. Disgorged: May, 2023. - Anne Krebiehl MW
