Hermitage La Chapelle Jaboulet 2000 offers a complex and structured profile. This medium to full-bodied wine unveils primary aromas of dark fruits, notably blackcurrant and plum, intertwined with earthy undertones and hints of smoked meat. The palate presents a refined acidity and moderate tannins, revealing layers of garrigue and spice, framed by a pronounced mineral character that speaks to its terroir. As a product of the esteemed Paul Jaboulet Aîné, a historic winery established in 1834, this vintage exemplifies their commitment to showcasing the unique qualities of the Hermitage region.

Gorgeous fragrant nose, fully melted tannins, silky and seductive, gingerbread, white pepper, incense, soy, umami, undergrowth, smoked earth, freshly sliced white truffle, crushed roses. tobacco, fragrant and lace-like tannins. Fully in its drinking window, definite tertiary character. Clear deposit so ensure a carafe, opened three hours before tasting.Jane Anson25th February 2025

Dark red. Inviting aromas of currant, leather, smoke, pepper and earth. Sweet, elegant and showy, with lovely juicy currant and pepper flavors. Has a distinctly claret-like weight and plummy character. Finishes suave and long. Showing a lot of personality today but this will evolve fairly rapidly. The 2001, which featured a stricter selection of fruit, seems much younger and capable of slower development in bottle.Stephen Tanzer1st January 2003
