Glenfarclas 2000 Family Cask 4084 is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, aged for 19 years in a single fourth-fill Sherry butt. Distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2019 at 55.4% ABV, this release marks the turn of the millennium for the distillery. It offers a profile of fresh orchard fruits, honey and a light, floral sweetness. The minimal wood impact from the fourth-fill cask preserves the distillery’s malty core, resulting in a spirit that is both approachable and complex. The finish is clean and lingering, showcasing the purity of the Glenfarclas distillate.

A Family Owned Distillery

Glenfarclas is one of very few privately owned Scottish distilleries having been in the hands of the Grant family for six generations from the mid-1800s until the present day. Glenfarclas operate three wash stills and four spirit stills and take their water from springs around the nearby Ben Rinnes mountain.

The distillery have a focus on high quality, flavourful spirits matched with high quality ex-Sherry barrels from Jerez de la Frontera. The core range is impressively consistent featuring a 10 year old, 15 year old, 18 year and 21 year old. A limited edition 30 year old is released annual and special mention should go to 105 Caskk Strength - a superb non-age-statement cask strength single malt bottled at 57.5% ABV.
