Glenfarclas 2003 Family Cask 1963 is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, matured for 15 years in a single Sherry butt. Distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2018 at a potent 58.4% ABV, this expression is noted for its intensity and youthful energy. It offers a profile of bold malt, dark fruit jam and spicy oak. The palate is concentrated and warming, with the Sherry influence providing notes of chocolate and ginger. It is a powerful representation of the 2003 vintage, demonstrating the distillery’s ability to produce robust and flavourful whiskies even at a younger age statement.

A Family Owned Distillery

Glenfarclas is one of very few privately owned Scottish distilleries having been in the hands of the Grant family for six generations from the mid-1800s until the present day. Glenfarclas operate three wash stills and four spirit stills and take their water from springs around the nearby Ben Rinnes mountain.

The distillery have a focus on high quality, flavourful spirits matched with high quality ex-Sherry barrels from Jerez de la Frontera. The core range is impressively consistent featuring a 10 year old, 15 year old, 18 year and 21 year old. A limited edition 30 year old is released annual and special mention should go to 105 Caskk Strength - a superb non-age-statement cask strength single malt bottled at 57.5% ABV.
