Vinous
(made from five parcels): Good dark red. High-toned aromas of raspberry liqueur and spices convey a late-picked quality. Lush and clean on the palate, with expressive yet delicate flavors of dark berries and maraschino cherry. A step up in fruit purity from the Côte de Beaune wines. Finishes spicy and vibrant, with substantial but nicely ripe tannins.Stephen Tanzer1st January 2015

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home. One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
