Serafin Pere et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2009 is a mature-vintage village red Burgundy from the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits. Sérafin Père et Fils is one of the leading wine producers in Gevrey-Chambertin. The Domaine was originally established in 1947 by a Polish immigrant named Stanislaus Sérafin and it is currently led by third-generation cousins Karin and Frédérique. This cuvée is produced from the domaine`s old-vine parcels of Pinot Noir in Gevrey. "Full-blown aromas of coffee, mocha and game. Less fruity than the basic village wine but dense, sweet and nicely fresh, with a deep middle and plenty of medicinal reserve. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and persistent notes of chocolate, coffee and underbrush." International Wine Cellar, 2012
