Champy is the oldest négociant house in Burgundy, with its origins traced back to the year 1720 when it was founded by Master Cooper Edmé Champy. Today, Champy owns 17 hectares of vineyards, all in the process of obtaining biodynamic certification. Dmitri Bazas has been overseeing the winemaking process since 1999. This particular cuvée is Champy’s village-level Gevrey-Chambertin from 2008, sourced from old vines. The 2008 vintage for Burgundy was largely very good, with both colours showing opulent, exotic fruit and spice.
