Figeac Magnum 2000 is a distinguished Saint-Émilion blend, comprising 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc and 30% Merlot, showcasing the winery`s commitment to a balanced expression of its terroir. Château Figeac sits on gravel and clay soils which contribute to its unique profile. The 2000 vintage is marked by a climate that promoted optimal ripeness, yielding a wine with a deep garnet hue and pronounced aromas of blackcurrant, graphite and herbal nuances. In magnum format, it has evolved to reveal layered complexity with notes of cedar and tobacco, underpinned by firm tannins, resulting in a structured palate and a persistent, mineral-tinged finish.

Deep crimson. Evolved, meaty nose. Very much ploughs its own furrow, as ever. No modern tricks; just an interesting, savoury, appetising drink already. If one didn’t know Figeac’s amazing ageing ability, one would be worried … Beautiful balance with tannins almost hidden. (JR)

An Elegant Right Bank Estate
Château Figeac is one of the finest producers in Saint-Émilion and is just one of fourteen properties classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé (B) in 2012, putting it firmly in the highest echelons of the region.
Owned by the Manoncourt family since 1892, the history of this superb estate can be traced back to the Roman era and today spans 40ha. The majority of the grapes produced go into producing the celebrated first wine of the estate, Château Figeac, a classic style of Saint-Émilion with wonderful texture and tannic power. A small amount of the second wine, Le Petit Figeac is also produced.
