E Guigal Ermitage Blanc Ex Voto 2007 is a full-bodied white wine produced from Marsanne and Roussanne grapes in the northern Rhône Valley. L’Ermitage Ex-Voto is produced only in exceptional vintages. A blend of 90 % Marsanne and 10% Roussanne from old vines growing on granitic soil on the famed hill of Hermitage, this wine was matured in new oak barrel for 30 months before bottling. This 2007 vintage shows an impressive balance between a delicate and expressive nose and fleshy fruit on the palate underpinned by a potent sense of terroir.

Bright gold. Aromas of fresh pit fruits, orange marmalade, honey and pungent spices, with a smoky overtone. Lush and creamy in texture, offering mineral-drenched peach, pear and floral flavors and an exotic touch of candied licorice. Rich but lively, with outstanding finishing clarity and lingering smokiness.Josh Raynolds1st March 2012

Benchmark for Côte-Rôtie excellence

Founded in the village of Ampuis by Etienne Guigal in 1946, Domaine Guigal is one of the most revered and unwaveringly consistent estates in the Rhône Valley, and is often seen as a benchmark for Côte-Rôtie Syrah. A pioneer of the single-vineyard concept in this appellation Guigal is best known for its top three wines, known affectionately as the 'La-Las', which is short for La Landonne, La Mouline and La Turque – the domaine's top Syrah vineyards .

Other notable vineyards of this 75-hectare estate include La Doriane (the source of Guigal's Condrieu), Ex-Voto (used for Hermitage) and Vignes de l'Hospice (the source of one of Guigal's top St-Joseph Syrahs). All of these have become benchmark wines of their respective appellations. The Crozes-Hermitage appellation completes the roster of Northern Rhône estate vineyards.

Since 2006, Guigal has made a substantial investment in appellations of the Southern Rhône, using top-quality purchased fruit from trusted growers in Châteaneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and the Côtes du Rhône.
