Eisele Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2017 presents a detailed study in expression from one of Napa Valley’s historic estates, under the stewardship of François Pinault, owner of Château Latour. This vintage comprises predominantly Sauvignon Blanc Musqué with a significant portion of traditional Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes, organically cultivated within the estate`s vineyards, were harvested at different stages for optimal ripeness. Post-vinification, the wine aged for 12 months in a combination of stainless steel, cement, new oak and used oak, contributing to a structured profile while maintaining the variety`s inherent freshness.

Bottled in late July, the 2017 Sauvignon Blanc is a real step up from previous vintages, springing from the glass with vibrant lime cordial, orange blossom and grapefruit notes with touches of allspice, honeysuckle, ripe pears, white peaches and struck flint. Medium-bodied with a suggestion of satin to the texture and a fantastic intensity of exuberant citrus fruits and mineral notes, it delivers a very long, refreshing finish. This should age beautifully! - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

A Napa Valley Icon

Another historic vineyard in Napa, first planted in the 1880s Eisele Vineyard sits in the northeast of the Napa Valley, east of Calistoga. Bart and Daphne Araujo converted the vineyards to organic farming in 1998 before moving to biodynamic practices in 2000. Broadly considered one of the great Cabernet Sauvignon terroirs in Napa, the wines continue to win praise from wine lovers and critics alike.

Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is the flagship wine, but the estate also producer a second wine called Altagracia, a Syrah and a Sauvignon Blanc. Before 2016, the wines were bottled under the Araujo label.
