Egly-Ouriet Grand Cru Millésime 2006 is a vintage Champagne produced by Champagne Egly-Ouriet in Ambonnay, France. The family-owned maison of Egly-Ouriet has built a reputation for crafting fine Champagnes that combine power, elegance and extraordinary terroir expression. Available in celebratory magnum format, this vintage expression is produced using fruit from Grand Cru vineyard plots in Ambonnay, offering the perfect balance of fruit, acidity, and minerality. "Ripe fruit and floral notes herald this mouthwatering Champagne, with nectarine, gingersnap biscuit, orchard blossom and anise notes carried through the fine, chalky mousse. Well-knit and vibrant, featuring a long finish of smoke and spice. Disgorged July 2015. Drink now through 2029." Wine Spectator, 2016

The 2010 Paderewski Vineyard is firing on all cylinders today. The Zinfandel is very much front and center in a big, boisterous wine full of personality. Mocha, chocolate, spice and plum notes caress the palate in a succulent, highly expressive wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. This is without question the biggest and most exuberant of the Saxum wines. Today it is stunning. The 2010 is 35% Zinfandel, 26% Mourvèdre, 19% Tempranillo, 11% Syrah and 9% Petite Sirah.

Bold Wines from Paso Robles

Founded in 2002, Saxum Vineyards has swiftly risen to become one of California's most respected producers of Grenache, Syrah and Mataro-based wines. Justin and Heather Smith started the winery vinifying fruit from a vineyard planted by Justin's father - James Berry Smith.

The focus is on Rhône Valley inspired blends from the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles. In the vineyard, the team aim for low yields and optimum ripeness while the cellar team exercise minimal intervention to preserve the purity of the fruit. Saxum use no chemical fertilisers, herbicides or pesticides and production is kept at around 8,000 cases per year across ten different wines. The flagship wine is the James Berry Vineyard Syrah, which regularly collects perfect scores from critics. These are big, bold, concentrated wines - inky and full with ripe fruit flavours overflowing from the glass.
