Efflorescence Marie Courtin 2017 displays a delicate profile with aromas of white flowers and citrus zest. On the palate, it reveals notes of ripe pear and subtle minerality, balanced by a gentle acidity that lends freshness. The wine is a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc, sourced from organic vineyards in the Côte des Bar region of Champagne.
The wine undergoes a natural fermentation process with indigenous yeasts and is bottled without filtration. It ages on its lees for an extended period, contributing to its complex texture. This cuvée is characterized by a layered mouthfeel and a pleasingly crisp finish, reflecting the craftsmanship of Marie Courtin and her commitment to biodynamic principles.

The 2017 Extra Brut Efflorescence (100% Pinot Noir) displays good depth texturally and lovely persistence, but I would like to see more focus on the aromatics. Then again, this is a 2017. A slightly forgiving palate is required to fully appreciate this. Zero dosage. Disgorged in March of 2023.
