Château Durfort-Vivens 2004 is a mature-vintage Bordeaux red wine from the Margaux appellation. Owned by the Lurton family since 1961, Château Durfort-Vivens is a Second Growth estate in the Margaux appellation. The 55-hectare vineyard is both organic and biodynamic certified and planted on deep gravel soils over a sand and clay base. "Lean, but shows attractive blackberry and plum character that`s almost leafy. Medium-bodied, with a firm finish." James Suckling, 2005

Chateau Durfort-Vivens

2ème Grand Cru Classé

Somewhat under the radar, this superb 2ème Grand Cru Classé estate produces wonderful Left Bank Bordeaux reds from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, grown on gravel soils.

Owned by the high-profile Lurton family since 1961, Château Durfort-Vivens has been certified biodynamic since 2016. The resultant wines are beautifully structured Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant wines that are built for aging. There is an emphasis on low-intervention winemaking, whilst 45% oak is used for the first wine and 20% for the second ‘Vivens’. A beautiful expression of the Margaux appellation.
