Dom Ruinart 2004 is a distinguished prestige cuvée from the historic Champagne house of Ruinart, founded in 1729. This vintage features a 100% Chardonnay blend sourced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards, with a significant portion from the Côte des Blancs. The 2004 vintage experienced a hot and sunny summer, contributing to high-quality fruit, particularly from the Pinot Noir grapes. With an ageing process of 10 years on the lees and a modest dosage of 5.5 g/l, this cuvée offers a refined expression of the vintage`s character.

Vivid yellow. Pungent, heady aromas of ripe pear, orange pith, brioche and toasty lees, with a stony nuance adding lift and urgency. Smooth and expansive on the palate, offering intense citrus and orchard fruit flavors that pick up minerality and smokiness with air. Finishes sappy, penetrating and very long, with slow-building sweetness and a note of buttered toast. LAIAYBY.Josh Raynolds1st December 2014

Ruinart

One of Champagne's Oldest

Founded in Reims in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart (the nephew of legendary Benedictine monk Dom Ruinart), Ruinart is one of the oldest champagne houses in France. The Ruinart style is characterised by its supreme elegance and finesse. A key cuvée is the Ruinart Blanc de Blancs - the house’s signature champagne - made using 100% Chardonnay grapes from vineyards in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims.

The Chardonnay variety is at the heart of all of the house's cuvees, including the Ruinart Rosé Brut, which is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, mostly sourced from Premier Cru vineyards, in addition to the Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs and the Ruinart Brut.
