Dom Pérignon is named after the legendary Benedictine monk, Father Pierre Pérignon, who in 1668 arrived at the Abbey of Hautvillers, north of Épernay and began experiments that would eventually lead to the creation and bottling of sparkling wine as we know it today. Tempered by a slow, masterful transformation during nearly 12 years in the cellar, Dom Pérignon Rosé 2008 displays ripe red berries and floral character on the nose carrying through to a full bodied palate and accompanied by a refreshing seam of acidity.

The 2008 Dom Pérignon Rosé continues to drink brilliantly, exhibiting aromas of orange, red berries, pear, pastry, spices and some smoke with time in the glass. Full-bodied, charming, broad and fleshy, with pristine balance, it’s a seamless, complete and vinous Champagne of compelling purity and maturity.Yohan Castaing20th April 2023

The 2008 Dom Pérignon Rosé has finally started to fill out. A bit. Rose petal, pink grapefruit, white pepper, slate, mint and sage gradually appear in the glass. The 2008 remains rather austere, befitting a cold vintage with what has now become a very rare October harvest. Vibrant and yet also clenched, the 2008 still needs time. Whether or not it will ever truly blossom remains a question mark. Antonio Galloni8th April 2025

The Past, Present and Future of Champagne

The first release of this now famous prestige cuvée was the 1921 vintage, launched in 1936. Dom Pérignon produces only vintage Champagnes, both blanc and rosé, and offer a number of late release bottlings under their Oenothèque and Plénitude labels. The wine is named after the legendary Benedictine monk, Father Pierre Pérignon, who in 1668 arrived at the Abbey of Hautvillers, north of Épernay and began experiments that would eventually lead to the creation and bottling of sparkling wine as we know it today.

The Maison produces elegantly balanced, harmonious and extraordinarily age-worthy Champagnes that are appreciated the world over. Young vintages offer a citrus-forward, brioche-like profile while mature bottlings present notes of toasted hazelnut, honey and orange oil. A true classic in the category and a wine that remains eternally popular with connoisseurs.
