Château d`Armailhac 2009 is a red Bordeaux wine from the Pauillac appellation, classified as a Cinquième Cru Classé (Fifth Growth). It presents a nuanced profile that reflects its character. It opens with a subtle bouquet of ripe blackcurrants tempered by hints of cedar and earth. The palate reveals a structured body, defined by its fine tannins and vibrant acidity, which lend an impressive backbone to the fruit. This vintage showcases a balance between richness and restraint, with an undercurrent of minerality enhancing the finish. D`Armailhac, part of the Baron Philippe de Rothschild estate, has a history of winemaking dating back to the 18th century, underscoring its commitment to tradition and quality.

The 2009 d’Armailhac has a lovely bouquet with ample blackberry, boysenberry, graphite and light mint aromas - very Pauillac and very well focused. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannin, moderate acidity, good depth and very grippy. It is not the most complex Pauillac in this group but there is fine persistence with pure black cherry and hints of cassis towards the finish. Fine. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting.
