D`Armailhac 2000 is a full-bodied, Cabernet Sauvignon-based red wine from the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux. Formerly known as Mouton d`Armailhac, Château d`Armailhac was designated as a Fifth Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification and is part of the broader portfolio of estates under Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Recent improvements in quality have elevated Château d`Armailhac`s status, and it is now considered one of the best-value wines in Pauillac. "This is lovely, with steeped currant, fig and blackberry fruit flavours that flow easily along with singed juniper, black tea and iron notes. At peak, but no rush, as the balance is there." Wine Spectator, 2016

Vinous
The 2000 d’Armailhac offers brambly red berry fruit mixed with cedar and mint on a nose that is gentle but persuasive, nicely defined and open. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins that frame the iron-tinged red fruit. This is not amazingly complex compared to recent vintages, but it is harmonious and displays the DNA of a Pauillac. It just fades a little toward the finish, and there is perhaps a touch of brettanomyces. Bottles are drinking perfectly now. Charming and ready to go. - Neil Martin - The 2000 d’Armailhac offers brambly red berry fruit mixed with cedar and mint on a nose that is gentle but persuasive, nicely defined and open.
