Cuvée Frédéric Émile Vendanges Tardives Trimbach 2000 is a late-harvest Riesling hailing from Alsace. This wine is crafted from grapes affected by noble rot. It originates from older vine parcels within the Grand Cru vineyards of Geisberg and Osterberg, situated near Ribeauvillé. The 2000 vintage was marked by an ideal climate, fostering grapes with remarkable ripeness. Flavours may include candied citrus, apricot and subtle herbal notes, with a structured palate exhibiting balanced acidity.
93 Vinous
(made from vines in excess of 50 years of age) Enticing pale color for a wine at this level of ripeness. Highly aromatic nose of pineapple, grapefruit and liquid stone. Juicy, penetrating and pure, with intense, spicy fruit flavors of peach and pineapple. A very pure fruit bomb of a riesling, with outstanding clarity and thrust. Dense, tactile and stony, with bright acids extending the wine's strong finish. Wonderfully lively and light on its feet. Carrying a moderate 20 grams per liter of residual sugar.Stephen Tanzer1st November 2003
