Founded in 1859, Maison Louis Jadot produces wines in over 150 appellations – from Beaujolais Villages to Le Montrachet. This is the maison’s 2007 Corton Pougets, a Grand Cru vineyard made up of two parcels covering ten hectares on the upper- and mid-slope directly adjacent to the Le Charlemagne climat. This outstanding site yields complex wines which are generous and nuanced.

Palish red. Perfumed, high-pitched aromas of red fruits, dried rose, crushed stone and spices. Silky and juicy in the mouth, with classy, sharply delineated flavors of red fruits, spices and flowers. This is accessible already owing to its balance, but this cuvee has a long track record for aging well. Finishes suave and long, with fine-grained tannins. With extended aeration, a note of strawberry came up and the wine lost some of its ineffable high notes.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2010

The very essence of Burgundy

Louis Jadot was established in Beaune by Louis Henry Denis in 1859. Over the last 165 years the company maintained exceptional quality of its wines through the steady acquisition of the best vineyards in Burgundy and now produce wines from over 150 appellations.

Jadot owns almost 125ha of vineyards in the Côte d’Or and more than 298 vineyard parcels sites including 14 Grand Cru and 74 Premier Cru. Within the last decade Domaine Louis Jadot vineyards around Beaune have been managed following organic principles and are in the process of organic certification for the 2024 vintage.

From vineyard to bottle, sustainability is a core part of their approach. Since 2019, all Domaine Louis Jadot vineyards have the High Environmental Value level 3 certification.
