Méo-Camuzet Corton Clos Rognet 1990 is a full-bodied red wine from the Grand Cru climat of Corton in the Côte de Beaune. Based in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Méo-Camuzet produces some of the most coveted wines from the Côte d`Or. Founder Étienne Camuzet was both a vigneron as well as a dedicated politician who spent most of his time in Paris. Today, Méo-Camuzet covers approximately 14 hectares of vines in very prestigious appellations in Burgundy. Since 1989, the estate has been overseen by Jean-Nicolas Méo, who also looks after Nicolas-Jay estate in Oregon. The small, walled vineyard of Clos Rognet faces east on the hill of Corton and is situated in the northern part of the appellation in Ladoix-Serrigny. The domaine`s Chardonnay vines here were planted in the 1920s.

The immensely impressive 1990 Corton reveals a dark ruby/purple color, and a huge nose of smoky new oak, black fruits, herbs, and minerals. Full-bodied, concentrated, and rich, with moderate tannins and low acidity, this stunningly proportioned Corton is already delicious, yet it should drink well for another 12-15 years. Only 125 cases were produced.
