Domaine de la Vougeraie Corton Clos du Roi 2022 is a Grand Cru red Burgundy from the climat of Clos du Roi in the Corton commune of the Côte de Beaune. Located in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. This cuvée is produced from 80-year-old Pinot Noir vines in the historic vineyard of Clos du Roi on the hill of Corton.
Vinous
- The 2022 Corton Le Clos du Roi Grand Cru has an attractive, quite floral bouquet with rose petal scents infusing the lively red berry fruit. Fine mineralité in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with finely-knit tannins, one of the most saline of Vougeraie's reds, with a sense of tension on the finish. Excellent.
