Louis Jadot is one of the most consistent growers and négociants in Burgundy, offering a vast portfolio of wines – from easy-drinking, accessible Bourgogne to complex, age-worthy Grand Cru expressions. The company is today run by Pierre-Henri Gagey, assisted by head winemaker Frédéric Barnier. This Corton-Charlemagne comes from one of the oldest vineyards owned by Jadot. m The Chardonnay grapes are picked by hand, gently pressed and then fermented in oak barrels, one third of which are new. The 2000 vintage is in a great stage right now, combining fresh and mature orchard fruit with spice and earthy notes.

Compellingly sweet aromas of wet stone, minerals, apple and spices. Really explodes in the mouth with spices and stones. With its superb mouthfilling sweetness and depth of fruit, this is almost too easy to taste for a young Corton-Charlemagne. A sappy, vibrant, large-scaled Corton-Charlemagne that showing spectacularly today.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2002

The 2000 Corton-Charlemagne has a creamy, talcum powder, and mocha-scented nose. Medium to full-bodied, supple, and velvety-textured, it is an intensely flavored offering. It bastes the palate with creamed fruit and mineral flavors. Drink this harmonious, lush wine between 2004 and 2012.
