Complex, ripe aromas of minerals and spices. Dense and broad on the palate; sweeter, smoother and altogether deeper than the examples from Meursault even though this wine shows excellent steely spine. Totally different in texture from the Meursaults. Really broadens out on the finish, which features steely flavors of pear and apple. Also tasted: Meursault.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2000

The World's Greatest Chardonnay?

Top Burgundy producer Domaine Coche-Dury was founded in 1973 by Jean-François Coche. Now under the stewardship of son, Raphaël, the Coches farm nearly 9 hectares of vineyards across six communes: Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie and Volnay.

The Domaine is celebrated for its superb and highly acclaimed Chardonnay including Meursault Perrières, Meursault Les Chevalières, Corton Charlemagne and Puligny Montrachet Les Enseignères. With tiny yields and meticulous wine making, the Coche-Dury name is truly iconic on the Burgundy stage.
