Bonneau du Martray is a unique wine producer based in Pernand-Vergelesses. It is the only Burgundian estate to solely make grand cru wines, Corton and Corton-Charlemagne. In 2017, the domaine was sold to American businessman Stanley Kroenke, who also owns Screaming Eagle in Napa Valley. The 2005 vintage is a triumph, even 17 years after the harvest. The wine still shows plenty of primary fruit, such as ripe apples, complemented by floral accents and a strong mineral backbone.

The 2005 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is in a gorgeous spot right now. Medium in body and lithe, with striking radiance from the warm weather that year, the 2005 is classy, polished and exceptionally beautiful. A hint of reduction adds lovely complexity on the finish.
