The history of Maison Vincent Girardin is relatively recent; when in 1980, at the age of 19, Vincent Girardin, the son of a family of winegrowers based in Santenay since the 17th Century, decided to strike out on his own. Girardin began producing wine from two hectares of vines that he had inherited from his parents. The quality of his wines was quickly recognized by connoisseurs all over the world, and this enabled him to expand his activity, focusing primarily on the great white and red wines of the Côte de Beaune. The 2000 Corton Bressandes reveals a mature nose of dark berries and balsamic notes, some tertiary vegetal complexity and a luxurious mouthfeel.

Good full red. Tangy raspberry and strawberry aromas, complicated by chocolate and baking spices. Smooth, fresh and intense, with brisk flavors of strawberry, raspberry, root beer and leather. The attractive fruit and spice notes carry through on the lingering, ripe finish.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2003
