One of four Morey-St Denis Grand Cru, Clos St-Denis, sandwiched between Clos de la Roche and the village itself, comprises 6.6 hectares. Finesse and elegance are typical characteristics of the wines from this grand cru, and in this cuvée from Louis Jadot, those characteristics are combined with a richness and a chewy tannic core that come from the ripe 2003 vintage. The pure red fruits have an enticing freshness, leaving a wonderful, complex wine.

Dee p ruby-red. Pungent aromas of blackberry, graphite, iron, clove and mocha. Supple, sweet and lush, with a rather open-knit texture and enticing flavors of dark fruits, chocolate, clove and minerals. Atypically full for young Clos-Saint-Denis. Finishes with fairly sweet tannins and a hint of animal fur.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2005
