The Clos de Vougeot Méo-Camuzet 2013 is a Grand Cru Pinot Noir from the esteemed Clos de Vougeot in the Côte de Nuits. Méo-Camuzet`s holding comprises three hectares, with vines dating back to the 1920s. The wine presents a bouquet of red fruit aromas including raspberry and cherry, complemented by hints of spice and oak from its maturation. The vintage`s structure reveals a firm palate with fine tannins that suggest further development in the cellar.

Good dark red. Sexy aromas of dark cherry, minerals, licorice and smoke, plus a whiff of charred oak. Still a touch reduced but lush, deep and packed with dark cherry and dark berry fruit. The licorice note returns on the horizontal, rising finish, which features suave tannins and leaves the salivary glands vibrating. Stephen Tanzer1st March 2016

Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has an earthy and foursquare nose similar to that of Thibault Liger-Belair`s own Clos Vougeot, quite earthy in style and missing some brightness. The palate is medium-bodied with light and supple tannin, the acidity well judged and there is some degree of elegance on the finish that does not quite deliver grand cru quality. Tasted September 2016. - Neal Martin
