Chevalier-Montrachet Vincent Dancer 2008 is a white Grand Cru Chardonnay from the Puligny-Montrachet commune in the Côte de Beaune. Reticent and refined notes of lime, quinine and crushed stone lead into a racy, mineral-driven palate that concludes with a persistent, saline finish that seems to vibrate on the tongue. This wine represents Dancer`s minimalist approach, which highlights the raw energy and transparent green apple character of the 2008 vintage.

Vinous
Pale, green-tinged yellow. Reticent nose shows some gingery reduction along with suggestions of lime, quinine and crushed stone. Then a bit less harmonious in the mouth than the Perrieres, with a creamy sweetness and strong but ripe acidity that`s not yet fully integrated. The sweet limey fruit is lifted by a high-pitched mineral element. Finishes tactile and long, with considerable finesse. This benefited dramatically with air, but I`d still give it at least three or four years of cellaring before pulling the cork.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2010
