Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles Jadot 2008 is a Grand Cru Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune. This vineyard sits on a steep, east-facing slope with thin, limestone-heavy soils, which impart a mineral-driven tension and vertical lift. The 2008 vintage contributed a piercing acidity that gives the wine a sense of verticality and energy. Maison Louis Jadot focuses on a style that balances fruit power with structural tension, resulting in a dense and multifaceted palate with a long finish of lemon oil, white peach and crushed chalk. It is a sophisticated and highly expressive wine.

Captivating aromas of lemon, white flowers, hazelnut and fresh almond. Fairly large-scaled and round, but with terrific energy and a light touch to the exhilarating, sweet flavors of lemon cream, tangerine, orange oil and crushed stone. This goes way beyond the Jadot premier crus in volume, dimension and finesse. Finishes fine-grained and extremely long, with terrific lemony cut.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2010
